Abrams in association with The Metropolitan Museum of Art to accompany an extensive exhibit at the time of publication. This copy is not a remainder, not a library copy. No former ownership marks. the only wear to report is some minimal age spotting to the fore edge of the text. As stated earlier, the book is still in its original shrink wrap. Ronald Pickvance was an English art historian, a specialist in the work of Van Gogh. He was Richmond Professor of Art at the University of Glasgow from 1977 to 1984. Dust jacket has been protected with a clear cover, that has been taped to the boards with strips of masking tape which are still attached to the boards. Crack in the gutter at the front pastedown though the sewn binding is entirely intact and tight and square. Red topstain on the edge of the text block does not appear to be faded at all. Former owner's initials written in fine point black ink on the lower edge of the text block, two letter. Very little wear to the dust jacket, some light edge wear to the head of the spine area, but no further wear since it has been covered. No further writing besides the initials on the bottom.
