1959. Limited Edition . Soft cover. Good. 80 pages. Novelist Alison Lurie's first book, self-published in Munich in a limited edition of 300 copies, is a memoir of her friend V.R. "Bunny" Lang, the Poets' Theater, and other parts of cultural life in and around Cambridge, Massachusetts in the early post-War years. Paperback, 6-3/4" x 9-1/2", white card wraps quite clean under original paper French-fold dust jacket with cover drawing by Lurie's friend Ted Gorey. The jacket is slightly soiled and age-toned, lacking the outer glassine layer. The text block is detached from the wraps (but pages remain bound together) and we have left to a future owner any decision on repair. Faint foxing to edges and end papers. Inscribed by the author on half-title, "For Warner and Ann with love Alison" - to Lurie's friends Profs. Warner and Ann Berthoff. No other marks within. From the library of Ann E. Berthoff.

Abridged and edited by Betty Burroughs, who supplied notes at the end of each biography, and based on the 1850 translation by Mrs. Jonathan Foster. Includes map of Italy, drawing of Florence, 48 pages of b&w art reproductions on glossy stock. Trade paperback, creases to spine (book falls open at one of them, but all pages attached), rubbing and light soil to wraps, light shelf wear and crease to top back corner, faint foxing to top edge. Marks in pencil observed on approximately five pages.

Andreevskii flag, 1993. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Near Fine. THIS BOOK IS IN RUSSIAN. 126 pages. The Russian filmmaker's book Velikaya kriminalnaya revolyutsiya [The Great Criminal Revolution, but this edition is in Russian only], published in conjunction with his documentary of the same title, on the upheaval in the Russian economy and society under the first two years of "shock therapy" and privatization. Written during the events of October 1993 when Russia's parliament was abolished and violently suppressed, it interweaves the author's view of the unfolding crisis. Mass-market paperback, slight rubbing and wear to wraps from being stored and moved around as one of a packet of several copies; unread copy.

Upscale mass-market paperback in glossy self-wraps, which are a little bit smudged. Binding tight, pages bright and unmarked. Gift inscription written on the front free end paper, but it doesn't appear to be the author's.
