Just a hint of toning to the extreme outer page edges. Free from inscriptions. The WRAPPER is in in near Fine condition with just some very faint toning. Far less than usually encountered. One small minor vertical crease to the upper panel edge. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. 'Wall and Piece' comprises a three-part series of previously published books by Banksy, including 'Banging Your Head Against a Brick Wall', 'Existencilism', and 'Cut It Out'. The First UK printing published by Macmillan, London in 1984. The BOOK is in near Fine condition with just a hint of rubbing to the corners and spine tips. Light toning to the text-block and the extreme pages edges due to the quality of the paper stock used. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with no fading of colouring to the spine. A hint of toning to the upper flap edges. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been signed (without dedication) by the author to the title page. Loosely laid in is a an early one page signed H/W letter dated '22/6'87' in which Iain Banks refers to this title :'. I think the reason the book is so valuable is simply because the first print run was only 5000 (actually not bad for a first novel), and I seem to have been taken up by the SF community (this happened before I published SF), which contains, it would appear, a higher proportion of avid collectors than other genres.'. Splitting to the spine folds with some tape reinforcement to the verso. The John French wrapper artwork remains striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. Before publication, Waugh objected to the publisher's blurb on the front flap of the wrapper.
