There are multiple short closed tears and chips in the edges. There is a 2 and 1/2 inch long closed tear in the top edge of the front panel. There is a small loss from the top edge as well. "Between 1938 and 1941, the National Park Service commissioned WPA artists to create a set of posters for the growing National Park System. Inside, the schedules of the various rail lines are listed. The rear of the leaflet promotes Popular Escorted Low Cost Tours for 1942 Summer Vacation Season (Yellowstone National Park; The Utah-Arizona Wonderlands; Sun Valley, Idaho). Two light horizontal fold lines. Although not identified, the artwork is by Walter Oehrle. Oehrle created one of the most recognizable characters of 20th century advertising- Elsie the Cow. In addition he created paintings for Union Pacific Railroad and Walt Disney's "Silly Symphonies." Oehrle was hired by the Union Pacific Railroad to illustrate the cover of their promotional pieces announcing the opening of Yellowstone each June.
