1850. 3" x 3" cut-out on one page.. A 5 3/4" x 10 1/2" hand made book by a little boy Initials W. B. R. The book is structured with brown paper on verso and pencil drawn illustrations on the right. Includes 8 pages of sketches including the cover. The cover depicts a saltbox house with lightening rods and a fenced in pasture. This is followed by allegorical images of an anchor and a Masonic symbol at the top of a page where a wolf chances a deer. The next page is a village skyline with both a small British and larger American flag flying overhead. A train is at the station --stick figure characters. The following page is a marching band of soldiers ; one with a sword, a drum, bugle, fife bayonette and American flag. This is folled by another page of page of solders with packs and bayonettes. And so it goes additional patriotic symbolism including American flags, firing cannon, eagles, etc. Concludes with a calf nursing while a bull looks on.

Over the six panels are the types of Ypsilanti cutters that are being offered. There are five categories of cutters: Kraut, Kraut: "B" Line Special Quality, Two Knife Slaw, One Knife Slaw and Vegetable. Each category has multiple design options underneath it with different sizes, and for kraut cutters number of knifes. Additionally there is information about how many cutters per crate and total weight. There is one illustrative example of one design per category to give a visual idea of the cutter.
