A young boy sails with the ship Godolphin to the Indian Ocean, stopping at ports in the East Indies, then to China, and then to Australia. Shipwrecked, the young hero and his shipmates reaches Banguay, a small island near Borneo, where they are captured by Malays and brought to Suba Island.
