Don Delillo (1936 – )

Don DeLillo (born November 20, 1936) is an American author best known for his novels, which paint detailed portraits of American life in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

Along with Thomas Pynchon and John Barth, DeLillo is widely considered one of the central figures of literary postmodernism, and many younger English-language authors, such as David Foster Wallace, cite DeLillo as an influence.

Literary critic Harold Bloom has named him as one of the four major American novelists of his time, along with Thomas Pynchon, Philip Roth, and Cormac McCarthy.
