Collection from family trip in 1952 includes original letter from Cunard Line Agents' Bulletin C-16 dated 6/14/52 in very good condition. Two brochures from the Caronia, one artist signature is G.H. Iavis. One book printed in England, one is printed in U.S.A. and the letter is from New York. Minor scratches and wear for the age and the First Class tag for the Cunard White Star Limited to Southampton, First Section is intact with the oriingal string. Paris: Imprimerie S. A. Courbet, 1980. Poster featuring the famous 'Normandie' liner. This appears to be a 1980's re-issue of the print. This was produced (originally circa 1950) in response to the advancing popularity of airlines for transcontinental travel. The image of the ship emphasizes stability, safety, comfort, style and luxury. A beautiful ocean liner as indicated by the enormous proportions of the ship. Featuring the French national colours, and the liner's huge, imposing bow dominates this striking image. 1000 x 610 mm (39¼ x 24 inches). The poster is signed in the plate on the lower right. Paul Colin (1892 - 1985) was one of France's greatest poster artists. Famous for his 1925 poster for the Revue Nègre, which helped launch the career of Josephine Baker (who also became his mistress). Colin is considered a master of modern school or poster art, and created more than 1400 posters, many theatrical sets and also costume designs. Finland: Universal International, 1962. 1st Edition 1st Printing. No Binding. Very Good. An original First Screening, Finnish, cinema-used lobby poster for the 1962 film THAT TOUCH OF MINK, starring Cary Grant, Doris Day and Gig Young. The film received its Finnish Premier in November 1962 with no subsequent re-release. This particular poster is a standard size Finnish A2, 60cm x 40cm approx. Signed in the plate by the artist. Condition - C5/6, VG to Near Fine. A folded poster with prominent crease to middle. Pinholes at corners. A couple of small nicks at bottom edge. Most noticeably, a cinema label to the left-hand side - I would judge this to be irremovable. Even so, this is a really lovely poster - the colouring is gorgeous and the label adds that touch of authenticity! Four-color offset lithograph on paper. [28⅛ x 23¼ in. (71.4 x 59.2 cm)], one of a printing of 4,000. From a series of four works titled "Column" the others were named Column no. 2 (Picasso 90), Column no. 3 (Chile-F), and Column no. 4 (IB-affair). The title refers to the work's likeness to newspaper columns: full of facts, but a colorfully cartooned map of textual facts. The artist's signature is reproduced in the lower right. Discoloration to white edges, else very good. Still very pleasant to the eye. All posters are presently stored between acid free boards, flat, under weight. They will be shipped rolled, in tubes.
