A crooked, cantankerous bookie in 1930s Los Angeles is given a six-year-old little girl as collateral for a bet, and soon finds himself the child's sole caretaker. A remake of the 1934 film directed by Alexander Hall, starring Shirley Temple.
Set and shot on location in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Sonora County, and Santa Rosa, California.
