Rare books from Lebomart

Complete set of eleven issues(issued monthly except for the June-July issue). Volume 82, No 1 to No 11 Better than average wear. May have some page creasing, or bumps, or small tears. No writing or marks.Has a sticker on the back of each issue with the subscriber name and address.

Stated First Scholastic printing, August 1992. Slightly bumped upper and lower spine ends. The dust jacket has some slight scratching on the front cover and slight wrinkling at upper and lower spine ends. Book appears unread.

Full title is: The Pastor's Corner An Intimate Discussion of Moral and Spiritual Problems. The author, William Melville Curry, D.D., was Pastor of the Ninth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, Pa. at the time of the book publication. It is inscribed, signed, and dated by the author on the first free end page adjacent to the front pastedown. Not sure of all the words in the inscription but it seems to say: To Prof. Alice ?, with sincere acknowledgement of the debt dating from her days of old, Wm. M Curry, Feb 2. 1929.(See picture) The introduction is by Charles R. Erdman, D.D., LL.D., President, Board of Foreign Missions, Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. The corners and top and bottom of spine are slightly worn. No page creasing. Top edge of pages are dirty from dust. 208 pages

Stamped on the title page is,"Specimen Copy with compliments of C. A. Ritter, Auburn, Pa." This was evidently a copy that was given to a school to examine for consideration for class material. Some writing on rear cover and writing erased on first blank page. Some writing, marks, and some closed tears thru book. 192 pages. Binding is starting to loosen. Letters on spine are fading and wearing off.

Fourth printing 1961. In addition to the author above:"in collaboration with Frances Spatz Leighton". There is some slight foxing on the 1st free end page. There is a slight damp stain on the bottom page edges which did not spread into the pages(edge only). Some wrinkling to bottom of spine. The Dust Jacket has a plastic protective cover on it. The dust jacket is wavy. The author served as a maid(and her mother before that) and seamstress at the Executive Mansion for 30 years prior to her retirement which was shortly before writing this book.

There are 50,000 numbered copies of this first edition of A Southern Album of which this is copy number 1422. It is signed by the author, Irwin Glusker. See picture of the bookplate indicating this information. The dust jacket has slight scratching on rear and slight wrinkling at top of spine. Size is 12 1/8 inches square and 1 inch thick.

Stapled Booklet. Small dirt mark on front cover just above the R in Margaret. At the dirt mark there is a small amount of blue missing from the sky as I believe someone tried to rub the dirt mark off. Total pages 63. Some creasing to the front and rear covers at the spine. The corners are in good condition. I believe this booklet was designed and written for children education.

Signed by author on the back of the front pastedown map. Extended title, "A Russian Class-War Novel". At the top of the half title page someone wrote, "signed 1st". Some dirt marks on spine. See pictures. Binding is excellent. There is no Dust Jacket. The top page edges are tinted red. Title page indicates this is a Philomatheia(devotion to learning)book.

This would be called an Association Copy as it is signed by the author to a Frank where the author wrote " Without Your Help This Book Wouldn't have Got Off The Ground". The first sentence of the Foreward is " This book was written as a practical guide for husbands seeking the adventure to be found in foreign camps while homefires blaze peacefully". The book is in great condition with only slight corner wear.

Name on top of inside front cover. Corners are bumped and worn some. Covers have some wear and are a little dirty. No writing or marks. The pages and color illustrations are in very good condition. This was not a prior library book. Size of book is about 5 1/2 inches wide by 6 3/4 inches high by 1/4 inch thick and has 63 pages. There is 12 color illustrated pages. See pictures showing this better than average book.

Dust Jack color is red, white and blue. There is some tears and wrinkles to the dust jacket. Covers are in very good condition with some slight bumping. Front inside flap of DJ is clipped at the corners. Pages are rough cut at the right edge except for the first few pages. There is a date written in pencil on the title page. This was a church library book from the United Brethern Church in Halifax, Pa. There ink stamp is on the bottom page edges and there is a library card and date due card attached to the inside rear cover.

Full title is: "A brief description of the eternal gospel in a plain and easily understandable interpretation of the most important prophesies in the old and new testament" The text is in German Script. Small size book: 4 1/2 inches wide, 6 5/8 inches high, and 1 2/8 inches thick. The spine board is missing and someone a long time ago put a piece of fabric tape across there to each front and back board. No writing and no markings. There is foxing. The board corners are bumped and well worn. Total pages are 420. See pictures for condition.
