The hinges are all solid, and contents are clean and near fine. Illustrated with numerous engraved plates. Volume one begins with a Prolegomena on the Authenticity and Inspiration of the Old Testament, The Translators to the Readers, Addenda et Corrigenda, The Various Editions of the Bible and Parts Thereof, in English, since the year 1526, History of the Present Authorised Translation of the Bible, Essays on the Jewish Coins, Weights, and Measures, and The Calendar of the Jews, and the Old Testament from Genesis to Esther. Adelaide: Corkwood Press 1999-2003 Special Editions 6 vols 8vo, 1999 Very Fine leather-bound matching set of all six of Len Beadell's often humorous autobiographical writings detailing his pioneering road-building projects throughout the Central Australian deserts on behalf of the Woomera Rocket Range. Each volume is beautifully bound in kangaroo leather, with gilt titles, gilt maps to covers, map end-papers, and illustrated with b&w and colour photographs and Len's original line drawings. A special limited edition of 50 copies of each volume, each volume offered here being no.41 of the series. Blast the Bush is autographed by Len's widow Anne Beadell, and his children, Connie Sue Beadell and Gary Beadell, after whom two of the great outback highways are named. Too Long in the Bush is also signed & inscribed by Anne Beadell, and Bush Bashers is signed and inscribed by Connie Sue Beadell. A magnificent set that does justice to Len Beadell's writings, and looks great on the shelf.

Oxford: Printed at The University Press by John Collingwood & Co 1841 4to unpaginated, 1841 VG+ to Near Fine copy of the large 4to edition, bound in original full burgundy leather, with intricate gilt tooling to front & rear covers & spine, raised bands, all edges gilt. There is slight rubbing to the covers, and the edges are somewhat scuffed, otherwise the binding is in excellent condition. The bookplate of Edgar & Helen Corrie, dated 27th Nov. 1843, is affixed to the front pastedown, and is very attractive in its own right, having hand-stamped gilt lettering & intricate gilt border on a purple background. Internally, apart from some very mild foxing to the prelims, the book is Very Fine throughout, printed in large letter double-column, and appears to be completely unread, with the look and lustre of a brand new book. Obviously, this book has been lovingly cared for by its previous owners throughout the past 150 years, and it is now looking for a new loving home.
