Published in c. 1941 in Tientsin, China. A photo commemorative album for B.M.I.C.C.N. (Bataillon Mixte d'Infanterie Coloniale de Chine du Nord ). Inscribed and signed by someone as showed. Printed photos all the album, describing every aspect of the B.M.I.C.C.N. Captions in French.
Extremely rare. No OCLC/worldcat record. No record in any Library or in Google etc. Extremely probably the only one in the world considering the Japanese's occupying the French Concession at almost the same time of the printing time of this book.

Duncan McArthur's Orders to Attend General Hull's Court Martial A remarkable document from the Court Martial Brig. General William Hull following his surrender of Detroit, which resulted in a death sentence for cowardice. Although his sentence was later remitted, General William Hull is the only U.S. general to be sentenced to death by an American court-martial. This copy of the court martial transcript belonged to Hull's second in command, Brig Gen. Duncan McArthur, and includes the actual hand-written orders commanding him to attend (and testify). McArthur's testimony was an essential and central part of the trial, filling the entirety of pages 47 to 73. Probaly Venice, 1825. An exquisite suite of watercolours, including a beautiful series of scenes documenting a Venetian commedia dell'arte troupe, by the Italian artist Francesco Novelli. Francesco Novelli (1767-1836), one of the preeminent artists of his generation, lived in Venice where he was best known for his outstanding book illustration. He enjoyed a long and successful career that culminated in the landmark editions of Don Quixote (1819) and Gil Blas (1820). Novelli is also known for illustrating works such as the Fasti Veneziani (1794), hinting at his abiding interest in the theatre and the performing arts. Illustrated throughout with maps, plans and facsimiles of letters and documents. Fine leather bound set in recent full dark blue morocco leather. Spines with raised bands. Red Morocco title labels ruled and lettered in gilt. Ruling, lettering and decorations of Rampant lion device stamped to spine compartments in gilt. Single gilt ruled border on all boards. All edges gilt. There is some very minor spotting to just a few pages of the first volume, otherwise this is a surprisingly bright and clean set throughout, and uncommon thus. A superior set of Churchill's great war account.

Unpublished notebook, 9" x 11 1/4" containing original artwork and designs, official documents, orders and correspondence pertaining to regimental coats of arms and distinctive insignia for the period 1922-1930. Notebook opens with three pages of formal guidelines for regimental colors and devices, then begins in earnest with original signed Adjutant General order No. 244, October, 1922 calling Falls "to active duty without pay or allowances for service in connection with submission of coats of arms for colors, distinctive badges, insignia, etc." The notebook contains 2 full-page original watercolors and 16 original crest and shield drawings in color pencil (State National Guard Headquarters and 7 regiments - 10th, 14th, 71st, 105th, 106th, 107th, 108th Infantry), along with correspondence, blueprints, design approval documents and finely printed samples for some designs.
