A terse and impressive first hand account of several of his most notable climbs ranging from the Himalayas to the Andes to the Alps and including the tragic adventure on the Freney Central Pillar. Some insect damage affecting the free endpapers and, barely, the edges of a few of the leaves, previous owner's dedication on the verso of the title page, very mild age-toning to text block.
