REBECCA by Daphne du Maurier - mcmxxxix

copyright 1938 but the letters on the main title page is mcmxxxix is 1939. And it is a Book Club Edition with the red numbers this one is No. 388297 top flap front inside cover. And gets mistaken as 1938 and its Doubleday, Doran name at the bottom spine of the DJ. These DJs are getting more rare than the book is because it is sought out for the regular run books. They are fragile and most are damaged by one form or another.

The book has maroon cloth with a sliver band, on its spine is Author's name, Title and Publisher's names. Most I have seen it goes on the front cover, the spine and the rear cover. This one does not have the rear band and does appear to had ever had one(no glue residue). The top paper edge is stained grayish blue. Fore edge pages are rough cut, the bottom lightly milled. There is a remainer of a bookplate inside cover, with the browning of the cheap glue used. Book appears unread and is very tight, very square, and very clean. Very minor bruising to the spine ends.

The DJ has chipping as seen in the photos, shelf wear to the DJ only and minor soiling and rubbing. SEE PHOTOS for more detail. More photos available upon request.
