Front cover bound in woven Japanese grass paper. Five rare Junacae in Maine are the subject of this Threatened and Endangered Species book (Alpine rush; Slender rush; Vassey rush; Northern wood-rush; Spiked wood-rush). The pale ink on paper imitates the color and value of the cast shadows produced by he cutaways.

Rochester, New York:: Visual Books,, 2008.. Edition of 10. 6.5 x 8.5 x 1.75" box size; 5.5 x 4.5" book size; 28 pages. Accordion structure. Hand bound ink jet prints. The describes the space and process of the project, printed with a vertical panorama of the garden situated between two buildings. Housed in hinged wooden box with Latex glove, flower seeds, and plastic horse. Scott McCarney,: " This book documents a version of a piece that has been installed/performed privately in my garden in Rochester NY for the past eight years. It started as a tribute to my father, who died at his home in Virginia from lung cancer in 2001. When told he had three weeks to six month to live, he chose to move from hospital to hospice care at home. That was Friday. We had a nice weekend together before he passed away the following Tuesday, much to the surprise of his doctor. Being with him those last few days, I understood his will to die was as strong as his will to live had been.

Title tipped on cover. Signed and numbered by the artist. By using the top blue loop (one of the ribbon tie closures), the book can be hung vertically for a cascading display. Clematis continues Goodale's Threatened and Endangered series in a broad sense. Clematis has been classified as a rare plant by the state of Maine. Their first two classifications for plants are those that are imperiled, which are the plants that Goodale usually includes in her series. Paris, Rue S Jacques: Chez la Delaguette; Chez le Prieur, 1750 Second revised and enlarged edition of this popular work on the cultivation of peach trees. First published in 1745. Earliest French book entirely about the cultivation and management of peaches. In contemporary full leather binding with title label, raised bands and gilt compartments to spine. The binding is sound with some wear. Internally there is a small label pasted to the front pastedown and eividence of some writing on the fep. The contents otherwise are in VG and clean condition. 198 pages plus notes on 'Privil du Roi' at the rear.

Paris: Michel David, 1711. Octavo, [6], 536, [8] pages. Frontispiece, five leaves of folding plates. Second printing of the First Edition. Michel David issued the title originally in 1710. A compilation of two seventeenth century works by Nicolas de Bonnefons, here issued under a royal privilege granted to Louis Liger, sieur d'Auxerre (1658-1717). The work is divided into four books, the first three concerning cooking, the fourth dealing with gardening, and with an additional brief treatise on hunting and fishing. Liger's compilation of de Bonnefons' work continued to be revised and reissued after his death and well into the eighteenth century. And rightly so. De Bonnefons' work recognizes the primacy of excellent ingredients. The final section is considered to be the first work on the kitchen garden. John Evelyn, who translated the work in 1658, called it "the first and best work of that kind that introduced the use of the olitorie garden to any purpose."
