About This Item

[Boston]: The Good Gay Poets, 1972. First edition. First appearance of Wiener's long poem, "Playboy," which recounts the trip by the Boston-based gay men's newspaper's "Fag Rag Collective" to the 1972 Democratic Convention in Miami. SIGNED BY WIENERS on first page, "John Wieners/ Miami/ 1972." The first book published by the press ("Good Gay Poets 1" was a broadside poem). Thirteen 8.5 x 11" pages printed on rectos only; stapled into over-sized tan printed covers measuring approximately 9 x 12". Very good with moderate creasing and internal archival tape repair to a number of small tears to over-hanging cover edges. Quite scarce.
