Seeking a change from her boring life in Peyote Pass, New Mexico, with its average daytime temperature of 105 degrees, Sally Jennings, an attractive young woman, moves to Baltimore, Maryland. Soon she learns that her pet is not a German Shepherd, but an Alaskan Gray Wolf. Nettie is a stunningly beautiful prostitute by day and a ravenous werewolf by night. One evening while strolling in the park, Sally is attacked by Nettie. Max, short for Maximus Rex, lunges to her rescue and though Sally is unharmed, Max is seriously bitten during the battle. According to legend, if a man is bitten by a werewolf and does not die, then that man becomes a werewolf. What happens to a wolf that is so bitten? Would he not on nights of the full moon become a man? So it is with Max. Predictably they fall in love, and many humorous, romantic and terror-filled adventures ensue as together Max and Sally strive to find ways to vanquish the werewolf and make Max human on a more permanent basis.
