Mit dieser Ausgabe der Fruhen Schriften (1925-1936) werden alle Veroffentlichungen und alle erhaltenen Manuskripte aus den Jahren Karl Poppers in Wien endlich zuganglich gemacht. In der Wiener Zeit verschob sich Poppers Interesse von der Erziehung und der Psychologie des Wissens hin zur Theorie des Wissens. Diese intellektuelle Entwicklung lasst sich anhand der Fruhen Schriften nachvollziehen, die zum einen Texte aus den Jahren enthalten, in denen Karl Popper ein unbekannter Student am Padagogischen Institut der Stadt Wien war. Ebenso sind hier Schriften aus der Zeit nach der Veroffentlichung der Logik der Forschung (1934) zu finden, als er ein bedeutender Philosoph wurde, der mit Heisenberg, v. Weizsacker, Einstein und Bohr angeregte Diskussionen uber die Quantenmechanik fuhrte und am Ersten und am Zweiten Internationalen Kongress fur die Einheit der Wissenschaft (Paris 1935; Kopenhagen 1936) teilnahm. Fur die Ausgabe wurden die Literaturangaben Poppers uberpruft; ein Nachwort schildert die Entstehung der Texte; Zeittafel und Register erschliessen den Band.
