She will soon meet Joan, a young anarchist who will win her heart and will show her the bright lights and magic of the Avenue of the Parallel. But an ill-fated event shakes the soul of the Romero sisters and pushes Francisca to pursue her dream: to become the queen of the Avenue of the Parallel theaters. Francisca will soon find her place and she will learn to play with her loyalties in a revolutionary Barcelona and in full theatrical boom. She will get to know the darkest side of the city, will experience humiliation, loneliness, betrayal, and an impossible love that will mark her life forever. But she will never give up on her dream. In a time when women did not even have the right to vote, Francisca will always be a free woman.
