About This Item

Glasgow, Scotland, UK: Coats Sewing Group, 1972. Book. Very Good. Soft cover. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. The book is in very good condition, shelf rubbing present, very minor bend to top edgewise corner, the text inside remains clean and clear throughout. Illustrated. 'Norweave embridery, a traditional Norwegian style originally known as Akle, has been adapted in this book by the use of bright colours and exciting designs, to suit the modern treds in home decoration. This style of embridery, which in its traditional form is limited to geometric patterns, has been used with greater freedom to produce an infinite variety of shapes and patterns, both naturalistic and abstract. The beauty of Norweave Embroidery lies in its simplicity and the fact that it is so quick and easy to work; the design being build up from block of straight stitches which vary in size depending upon the type of canvas used. Owing to its simplicity it is a suitable style of embroidery for a wide variety of articles, many of which are shown in this book. Each one will be a pleasure to work and a handsome addition to any room.' 39 pages. 7.5 x 10.5 inches. .
