England: [Joseph Mansell?], 1850. Very good. Light toning, dust soiling.. A charming hand-colored lithographed 12mo greeting card or Valentine depicting a well-to-do little girl playing croquet in a blue and pink dress. Below is the message, "I would I were a child so fair, To play Croquet in the Square, Of such delight I'd ne'er get weary, If played with you my little fairy." Lithographed on paper with embossed border and hand-colored. Measures approx. 5.5" by 3.5". Most likely produced by Joseph Mansell.
