About This Item

Montreal:: Montreal Museum of Fine Arts,, 1991.. First Printing of the First Edition. A Fine copy in a Fine dj. "The decade that ran from 1919 to 1929 occupies a very special place in our collective imagination. Labelled "Les annees folles" and "the roaring twenties", the period strikes us today as having been on of unprecedented freedom and creativity. The aim of our exhibition is to represent this era as faithfully as possible by portraying its innumerable artistic innovations and often redically opposing movements." The theme of the project was: "The metropolis, as both the site and the subject of artistic creation, with particular emphasis on the three great cultural centers of the decade--Berlin, Paris, and New York."
