Colour illustrated dustjacket. To celebrate the Australian bicentenary, the author selected 60 works of art. These became the first fully illustrated introduction to the subject. His choice included familiar works and others reproduced for the first time. They were deliberately designed to show the diversity of subject, style and technique evoked by Australia of those artists who had lived and worked in this country. -- front fold over blurb Light rubbing of the edges of the dustjacket and some short tears; the top edge, right hand side of the front board has been rubbed, exposing cardboard.
