About This Item
Metairie, LA: Sons of Liberty, 1959. Newsletter. Twenty-one issues of the four-page newsletter, 5.5x8.5 inches, generally very good, but several issues have extensive pen underlining. Originally published by the Saint Benedict Center in Cambridge, MA, these are later reprints (reissue date unknown, probably 1970s or later) from a notorious racist publisher in Louisiana. Issues present are February-June 1954, December 1955, April and November 1956, April, June, July, September 1957, April, June, August-December 1958, February and March 1959. Catholic anti-Semitic newsletter, referring to Jews by such epithets as "Enemies of Christ." Many warnings that Jews are "Judaizing" Christianity and making it more tolerant of forbidden theologies. The Saint Benedict Center, a group of "radical traditionalist Catholics" led at the time by Leonard Feeney, has been in the news repeatedly in more recent decades for its continuing anti-Semitism.
