All volumes are bound in matching brown cloth with black blind-stamped decorations all around and gilt titles on the spines. All are in good to near fine condition. A few volumes have cracked hinges, with loosened but still intact bindings. Throughout the set there are a few scuffs and minor bumping at the corners and small tears along the edges. (Please see examples in the photos). Several volumes have discreet ink signatures of early (e.g. 1871) owner on the ffep's or title pages. No other marks or damage. Many volumes appear unread, and indeed, some are still uncut.
Overall, an excellent set, attractively bound
