About This Item

[Washington]: Snack Food Association, [1987]., 1987. First edition. First edition. Large quarto. Original blue cloth, stamped in gilt on front cover and spine, 408pp., illustrated. After 50 years of operation as an industry, this book divides the world of Snack Foods into the many products with which we've all become familiar. One section devotes itself to the potato and all of the snack products we use from that source; another section devotes itself to corn and all of the snack products we use that have corn as their base; and of course all sort of pretzel products. Depicted are designs of many snack food companies, both past and present, along with machinery used, machinery manufacturers, officers of the industry, television and movie personalities who have been spokesmen for various snack food companies, and a history of the industry begining in the 1930s to present day. An interesting and complete history of food products we see and use every day. Very fine in dust jacket.
