Under the name of Heald's it . served employees of Gardiner's mills and factories with an emphasis on ample portions served quickly. Now known as the A1 Diner it still draws customers with its warm flaky biscuits and still a local gathering place. It serves bouillabaisse or meatloaf. This book is filled with characters from either side of the counter, packed with recipes and kitchen notes. .
