About This Item

Hill & Wang Pub, 1995. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/fine. First printing. Fine in fine dust jacket. Hardcover. xi+ 237 pp. with index. Newton Minow, JFK's FCC Chairman and co-author Craig LaMay postulate that commercial interests dominating television have abandoned our children to a wadteland of vacuous, often violent, and openly comsumerist televison programming. The industry claims the Constitutional right to broadcast whatever they wish but the authors persuasively demonstrate that this is a galse applicationnof the First Amendment. Though published in 1995, a work that is as relevant today as it was then.
