Navy blue buckram cloth covered boards with gilt titles on panel on front cover and gilt titles to the spine, black paste-downs and end-papers. Condition very good, corners slightly rubbed, spine ends rubbed, spots to pages edges and first and last 20 or so pages and occasionally creeping on to margins of the odd page here and there, previous owner's name from 1907 on front end-paper. This is a very scarce historical novel set in the court of Henry IV of France.
