London: The Great Western Railway, 1926. Includes additional chapter on MONASTIC LIFE AND BUILDINGS by A. Hamilton Thompson. 153 pages. 7 1/2 in x 10 in. Beautiful book with 100 illustrations by photographic reproduction, 56 drawings, 13 plans and 7 color plates and map, some fold out. Folded color map in pocket on back paste down endpaper. Also included is an ad for other similar books and a loverly old bookmark of Gloucester Cathedral. Pages clean, good condition. Quarter bound with black cloth over red boards. Gilt title on spine and embossed gilt title on upper cover. Spine edges, head and tail lightly worn and bumped. Boards show lightly wear, few tiny spots and scratches. Edges and corners lightly worn and corners are bumped. VG. Second Impression. Hard Cover.
