Illustrator: Roderick Hulsbergen -- Photographer. 160 pages, notes, bibliography, notes on the writers and acknowledgements. Black-and-white photographic endpapers showing a sacred Banyan tree in Arnhem Land. The text is illustrated with black-and-white photography and colour photography taken by Roderick Hulsbergen. Black coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine. Photographic dustwrapper, again by Roderick Hulsbergen, with white writing on the front panel and the spine. This 1971 book was an attempt of the writers to examine the aboriginal people and their situation in the wake of social conscience being awoken, of white Australia to the indigenous inhabitants. The photographs are of the aboriginal people and their lives as it was in 1971. very slight rubbing of the top edge of the dust jacket, internally clean, with no annotations.
