Book of Martyrs abridged to include Protestant persecution by the Roman Catholic Church, as well as an account of the Inquisition, the Bartholomew Massacre, Persecution under Louis XIV, and the massacre in the Irish Rebellion in 1641. Full brown leather, 432 pages, illustrated with four pages of illustrations with two scenes each. Covers very rubbed and chipped but archivally stabilized so not powdery, hinges internally cracked, text block sound, some transparent staining and foxing, but fully legible throughout. . Hard Cover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
