Illustrated with Copper Plates, and adorned with a portrait of the author. By Geoffrey Gambado Esq. Riding Master, Master of the Horse, and Grand Equerry to the Doge of Venice. The Second Edition. 12 hand-coloured engraved plates. 1st plate with chip & short tear into blank fore-margin, some foxing to margins of plates. Folio 13 3/4 x 10 inches), pages: xx:36. Bound with:Annals of Horsemanship: containing Accounts of Accidental Experiments and Experimental Accidents, both Successful and Unsuccessful: Communicated by various Correspondents to Geoffrey Gambado Esq. author of the Academy for Grown Horsemen. Together with the Most Instructive Remarks Thereon, and answers thereto, by that Accomplished Genius and now first published. London: Dickinson 1791. 16 (of 17) hand coloured plates. Lacking Plate 9 "Love & Wind" and the 2 leaves of text accompanying it. Removed obviously by an ignorant buffoon. Folio (13 3/4 x 10 inches), pages xvii:81:(1, publisher's list). One plate with split on plate mark, repaired to reverse, another plate with split on plate mark and short tear to margin, short chips out of another margin. Folio, contemporary full diced tan calf, decorative gilt border to sides, rebacked at an early date, the original backstrip retained; corners rubbed through, outer joints worn but firm. Two engraved armorial bookplates on front pastedown and early signature on title.
