About This Item
Eau Claire, WI: E.M. Hale and Company, 1964. Book. Illus. by Angelo, Valenti. Fair. Hardcover. Reprint. 48mo - over 3" - 4" tall. 39 pages. Bluejay found the biggest oak tree with the best acorns he had ever eaten. They tasted so good he gobbled them up and then remembered that he had to find a place to store some for the long winter ahead. Everybody else in the forest was doing the same thing. Whenever he found a hiding place, the chipmunks would find it, or the woodpeckers or the squirrels. None of his acorns were safe and he screamed "This neighbourood is full of robbers!" Then he found a hole in a big tree that seemed just right and he kept filling it up and filling it up, only to find the next day that the acrons were piled on the ground with his happy neighbors having a feast. The he decided that there just MUST be enough for everybody. Front endpaper removed, normal library markings. Still tells a warm children's story..
