Blue cloth with gilt spine titles and blind stamped front; the top edge is stained blue. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear. William Hervey Allen Jr. was an American educator, poet, and author. He is best known for his work Anthony Adverse, regarded by many critics "as the model and precursor of the contemporary American historical novel.
