New York: Viking Press, 1944. Third Printing, 1944 . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The interior of the book is crisp and clean, with no marks or wear. The blue cloth covers are fresh, with just a bit of fading along the top and bottom edge, but little wear else. The dust jacket is price-clipped, and has light general wear and chipping. There is a Newberry medal (old style) in the top right hand corner. A very nice copy.
Synopsis
Adam of the Road is a novel by Elizabeth Janet Gray that won the Newbery Medal for excellence in American children's literature in 1943. Set in thirteenth-century England, the book follows the adventures of a young boy, Adam. After losing his spaniel and minstrel father, Adam embarks on a series of escapades throughout medieval England. Readers are given an accurate portrayal of medieval culture and society. The book is illustrated by Robert Lawson.
