New York: Grove Press, Inc, 1964. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Near Fine in a Near Fine jacket, unclipped ($5.50), generally toned, a few small closed tears and creases. Brown cloth with gilt lettering on the spine. Square and firmly bound, endpapers faded along the edges, clean otherwise. The adapted transcripts of tape recordings captured by Ralph Tefferteller at the Henry Street Settlement in New York during 1957 of drug addicts "[speaking] freely of their inner lives, their hopes and fears, their families and friends, their loves and hates, and the endless round of need and 'fix.'
