Rare address delivered in Frederick, Maryland at St. John's College, a Catholic Jesuit school, before its debating society. St. John's is one of America's oldest institutions of advanced learning. The subject of Sappington's address is "Our Country and its early Settlement." The address ends with a list of members of The Tullipheboian Society, the literary and debating Association of St. John's Literary Institution.
