About This Item
Little, Brown and Co., Boston-Toronto, 1958. Hardcover (approx 5.75 x 8.5 (14.5 x 21.5 cm)), 250 pages. Book Club Edition. The book is in Good condition. Quarter bound, grey boards with burgundy spine, with yellow-gold lettering on spine. Bumped and rubbed, most notably at head & foot of spine and corners. Slanted/cracked spine. Pages browning/foxing. Brown spots, soiling on pastdowns/endpapers. The dust jacket (dj) is in Fair condition. The dj is bumped and chipped, with pieces missing from head of spine, and corners/folds. There is a tear that runs across the front of the dj. It has been taped on the inside, and unfortunately on the front (with clear tape). There are also three, puncture tears on the spine, also repaired with tape. The front internal flap is creased and is marked with what appears to be glue or sticker residue. The dj and pages are browning/foxing. The dj is price-clipped. Jacket design by Dwight Shepler. The dust jacket is protected in an archival (removable) book jacket cover. Weight: 355g.
Synopsis
Hornblower in the West Indies, or alternately Admiral Hornblower in the West Indies is one of the novels in the series CS Forester wrote about fictional Royal Navy officer Horatio Hornblower. All the other novels in the series take place during the 1793–1815 wars with revolutionary and Napoleonic France. This one takes place when Britain is at peace, May 1821 - October 1823. Hornblower has been promoted Rear-Admiral and has been named in command of the West Indies station, i.e.

Shipping charges are for the final weight of the parcel (book size/weight plus packaging materials).

The shipping charges quoted for Priority Mail (Medium Flat Rate Box) are for a parcel measuring 13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8" or 11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" and less than two (2) pounds (lbs). Larger and or heavier parcels may require additional postage charges. You will be notified via email if additional charges are warranted at which point you can elect to accept or reject the extra charges requested. However, smaller parcels may be subjected to lower postage costs (reduction will occur when order is processed).
For International Customers: I encourage you to contact me via email to obtain an accurate postage quote prior to making your purchase as United States Postal Service (USPS) shipping costs vary considerably depending on buyer's location and parcel weight and size. Overseas orders are normally dispatched via USPS First-Class Package International Service. The amount quoted for shipping is based on USPS rates for a parcel weighing less than two (2) pounds (lbs) and ultimate destination. Requests for Priority (Express) shipping will be handled on a case-by-case basis as such charges are extremely expensive to most international destinations.
