UK,slim Qrto HB,1st edn.VG+.Contemporary,neatly handwritten,dark ink,Christmas gift presentation inscrptn+ date (Christmas 1924) to front free endpaper.no (assumed issued?) dw/dj as an absence of price to boards.Tan paper-covered boards with khaki cloth blind spine with brown ink decorated border edges and lettering to front board and also with colour painting paper onlay (after Albrecht Durer),brown lettered spine,rear board plain tan paper but with some grubbing and other minimal blemishes; with negligible shelf-wear,bumping,creasing to edges and corners - corner tips minisculely rubbed with reciprocal paper loss,white endpapers - each set with off-set foxing in varying degrees.Top+fore-edges aged/ toned - as usual/normal; contents bright,tight,clean of antique chain-laid paper pages with pasted colour painting and text.UK,slim Qrto HB,1st edn,v-xpp+1-48pp [paginated] includes separate lists of Carols and plates,compiler's introduction,10 colour laid-in plates throughout the text and the book - includes the frntis, - by artists as Gozzoli, Mostaert,Fra Angelico,Fabriano,Masaccio, Botticelli, Correggio and Pieter Brugehel,verse Carols and sacred poems/poetry; plus [unpaginated] half-title with colour plate laid in on its reverse,title page,title separator page also with colour plate pasted to reverse,paintings unpaginated, and to the rear 2pp publisher's advert for Medici Picture books, followed by printer's blank.
From earliest times,The Adoration of the Kings has been a favourite subject in religious,sacred Art.Neither have Church musicians and poets been found lacking in devotion to the Kings and their Star.
