About This Item

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: The Stackpole Company, 1953. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Color frontispiece by Fred Everett, with photographs by Clyde Childress and drawings by Firman Bradway. From among the books of American jazz clarinetist, composer, and bandleader Artie Shaw, with his pencil notations to the rear endpaper. Shaw was an avid angler who left music for nearly three decades in part to work on his fly fishing. Original green cloth binding, with a color pictorial label on the front and gilt titles. The boards are somewhat edgeworn, largely at the spine ends and corners; otherwise very good.
