This book recounts the author's 1863 treacherous journey through Arizona and New Mexico as well as his subsequent travels to Virginia City, the Comstock Lode and the mines of northern Nevada. He aptly describes the differences in lifestyles of the inhabitants of AZ and NM barely scraping by to those of the prosperous miners and people in Nevada. Told with wit and candor and accompanied with over 150 of the author's drawings. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
