London: Chapman & Hall, 1895 First edition thus, limited to '500 copies for England and America.' HB. Grey paper-covered boards lettered in black with engravings around title; leather spine with gilt titles. 506pp, large quarto. With tissue-guarded coloured lithographic frontispiece by Cruikshank, and 25 coloured lithographs in plates, also tissue-guarded. With publisher's preface to this edition, and Dickens' earlier preface. A beautiful production in Very Good condition : covers bright, some light handling marks and light foxing, paper over edges rubbed in places. Binding sound. Pages clean and bright, with light browning to prelims and closed edges. Armorial bookplate inside front cover.
