LONDON: LONDON: LOVAT DICKSON & THOMPSON , 1935 Red Cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine.200x135mm approx. top edge stained red, xx + 256pp. b/w photo. frontis + 19 other b/w illust. from photos and the author's own line drawings. chapter head line vignettes. Fifth printing 1935. Personal recollections and first hand narrations of the author among "the beaver people" of Northern Canada. Written for and dedicated to "those little ones who, for so short a time, dwell in that Enchanted Vale of Golden Dreams that we call Childhood. Born in Hastings Sussex - real name Archibald S. Belaney - he served with the Canadian army in WWI, spent much of his life as a conservationist passing as half indian. The copy offered is signed by him in ink to the title page with further same to a piece of paper attached to the rear paste down. Good - no d/j (Book- shelf wear and soiling to cloth with tear to head from careless pulling from bookshelf, author signatures as above. No previous owner name or insc.
