About This Item
London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1920. First. Hard Cover. First printing. Quarto sized in blue cloth lettered in gilt and with gilt decoration of biplane in flight. 259 pps. with index. 32 monochrome photographic plates (mostly aerial views and including dirigibles) and four folding plates at rear. Important early work focusing on peacetime aviation. While the gilt stamping is still bright, this copy regretably has dampstaining to the lower 1" of the cloth extending upwards along the spine and front gutter edge an additional 2". There is evidence of damp along the lower edge of the text block tho' this is confined to the lower margins of pages and plates and does not extend to the text.
