About This Item
Macmillan, London, 1971. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Very Good. Green coloured boards with black coloured titles of the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with pale yellow coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. Laura, a successful writer, is suffering from total amnesia caused by catalepsy. Facing people who are absolutely unknown to her, she is amazed to learn that one improbable character is her husband, and that another is a senior police officer; and even Laura's buoyant spirit quails when she is told of the circumstances in which she was discovered -- clutching a carving knife in the kitchen her country house which is drenched in human blood. Softening of the back strip edges and rubbing of all edges. Faint sunning to the book edges and to the back strip. Minor rubbing of the dustwrapper edges with a little marking to the rear panel.
