New York: A. W. Lovering, 1889 Folio 12" x 9 3/8". Red pictorial cloth stamped in gilt, blue and black. 200 pages. Gilt page edges. Printed on a thick somewhat slick paper. 143 outstanding engraved illustrations. Organized by country or locale followed by a section on explorations. Cut on page 11. Text has a few fox spots, short tears, soiled spots. page 35-36 missing. Half of page 49/50 cut-out. Worn and soiled cover with tape on spine. Some sewing together of the text block appears to have been done at some time. Flyleaf and rear free endpaper removed. Poor condition. .
