London: J S Virtue & Co., 1898. Book. Good. Full-Leather. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Dark red leather with titles in gilt within black label on spine. Five raised bands to spine and gold decoration within the compartments and around the edges of the covers. Marbled endpapers and marbling to textblock edges. Condition: Good, with light shelfwear to covers and rubbing to edges of spine. Rear cover has a faint waterstain, not affecting book in any way. Binding sound, text clean. School prize label (Amersham Grammar School) fixed to front pastedown. Previous owners name on half-title. 248pp. Eight b/w plates including frontispiece portrait of General Gordon. .
