This is a story of South Africa. The author, a prolific writer on South Africa, writes now of a year's travel, accompanied by his wife, from the Cape to the deserts of the north. In this we face the paradoxes of the Dark Continent, hear the testimony of emirs and missionaries, of career diplomats and native doctors, and see that the overwhelming problem of education of the African people towers above all the other challenges of this uneasy land. He set out to find how capable was the black man and what has the white man achieved in South Africa. The answer is left up to the reader. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
