Wild Life Protection Society of South Africa, 1946. First Edition. Very Good/No Jacket. 24 volumes. Bound copies of the uniquely successful Wild Life magazine. Vols 4-24 = 1 volume for each year from 1950-1970. Most pleasingly bound. Each in quarter leather. Claret coloured boards. The spines have five ridges. Gilt titling on black leather patches. The spines of each volume are very handsome, smart. The boards are also healthy, sound, clubbable. Volume I: Please note that No. 4 appears to be absent. The cover indicates the issue to be No 4, the title page indicates that it is No 5. The covers of each issue are scuffed and creased from use and age. There are occasional incidences of foxing. The contents are otherwise most pleasing. Volume 2: No 1, Vol 2, May, 1948-No 4, Vol 2, March,1949. Each copy is most gratifying and agreeable. Volume 3: No 1, Vol 3, July 1949 - No 4, Vol 3, March 1950. The front cover of No.1 has a previous owner signature. The covers of each have scuffing, wear. The contents are certain, tight, clean. Vol 23: the spine is sunned, worn, scuffed. Each of the other volumes are good-looking, hale, sturdy, fresh, clean, generous, bountiful. This is a VERY, VERY RARE collection of this invaluable, irreplaceable journal, with such extent and condition. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
